This growth was driven primarily by a rise in collections from local payroll taxes, which increased by about EGP 39.8 billion to record EGP 149.7 billion.
Additionally, more than 450,000 new or revised tax returns have been filed, declaring additional taxes worth EGP 54.76 billion.
Meanwhile, tax revenues from non-sovereign entities rose by EGP 264 billion, or 38%, reaching EGP 956 billion, up from EGP 691.6 billion.
In an open discussion at the Small Enterprises Union with heads of investors' associations from various governorates, the minister explained that registered taxpayers can benefit from other advantages offered by the government, including access to financing and export opportunities.
Kouchouk pointed out that many economic challenges will be automatically resolved as the government expands the tax base and strengthens partnerships with taxpayers.
